What's better than emulating Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Servers? Emulating Battlefield 3 servers.
If you weren't around earlier today, you probably missed out on the news that the folks over at Emulator Nexus have been working on a variety of tools that allows them to modify several aspects of DICE's late Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Now, a video that was originally uploaded February 17th by NoFaTe (a co-founder of Emulator Nexus), has surfaced containing what depicts the process of emulating a Battlefield 3 server...all the way from setup, to launch and gameplay.
According to NoFaTe, the emulation software is still in very early beta stages and no public release has been mentioned. From what the video shows however, the suite seems somewhat fully functional. See for yourself:
This is the first preview of a functional emulator for the Blaze backend ,which is used by Battlefield 3.
Is this the start of something as wonderful as player-hosted servers? Will this result on a massive set of modifications as a compliment to Frankelstner's Tweaker? We surely hope so and thoroughly support NoFaTe in his continued effort to make Battlefield a better franchise.
As always, be sure to drop over on our forums and join the discussion.
